“I enjoy helping people even if it’s just to make them smile and enjoy themselves while tackling a difficult thing like karate. I know how it’s like to be so confused and terrified when you first begin training, but I also know that with proper guidance and trust in your instructors, anything is achievable. Going up in ranks, I always had anxiety and wanted to quit every time I went to class. However, I also knew that once I made a promise to myself to become a Black Belt and go on to be an instructor, I would be in an excellent position to do my absolute best to make the students enjoy everything about karate. Life will throw obstacles at you but the important thing is never to count how many times you fall but instead focus on how many times you got up and continued. With instructing I can help students grow in their martial arts ability and apply these lessons to life. I strive to be a good role model for all my students.” – Ms. Una Sobot 2021.
